How to Apply

Application Process

We will be accepting applications for AY 2023-2024 in spring 2022, with 3 spots available.  Applications will be accepted and processed on a rolling basis.  Your application must include your CV, personal statement, application form, and 3 letters of recommendation in order to be considered complete.  Interviews will be held exclusively virtually in April 2022 (date TBD).

Up to 3 positions are available each year, either through the traditional pathway (3 years GI + 1 hepatology), or via the accelerated pathway (GI + hepatology in 3 years; open to UCSF GI fellows only).

Requirements for Transplant Hepatology Fellowship:
  • Completed training in gastroenterology
  • Meet the requirements for board eligibility in Gastroenterology at the time of commencement of the fellowship
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident status
  • Valid California medical license by the commencement of training
